I love a good rousing Twitter conversation! Twitter has been an excellent place for making connections across higher ed, specifically, and I’m always finding resources there. Today, let me give something back:
A clean method for requesting extensions serves a variety of purposes, and I’ll save that discussion for another time, but for those who are interested in adding this option to the Brightspace/D2L shell, here’s a little Q&D. If you don’t see these options in your course, your org might control the platform a bit more than mine and you might need your instructional designers or IT department to help. Also, be sure to paste the link in. I do it but don't say so. Here is the Google form.
ETA: You can set the form to send you notifications, but you’ll still need to go into the form to see the details, to my knowledge: Open your form in Google Forms > Click Responses > Click More ⋮ icon > Enable Get email notifications for new responses.
(those eyes! the fatigue is real!)
Happy editing! On Friday, I’ll wrap up 2021 with another Q&D about how course architecture (specifically leveraging the checklist feature in novel ways) conveys a pedagogy of care and provide a demo for how to make that happen.
